Lee's ride

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

It's been a long time since I posted on my "blue buggy" discussion. If you go back you can see the Photobucket bit and the lost photos.

Anyway, what I wanted to post had to do with the engine. It is a 1776 AC VW engine but the engine block has been machined and plugs put it to upgrade the oiling system in the engine. So far it has been a good change, e.g., no problems yet. I get a quicker and better oil pressure reading than I did with the stock engine. You can do a search and get some of what I did and more if you need it.

Guys, I am going to sadly make this post.

Lee did pass away last summer. I have had some interaction with his step son confirming this. Lee's wife passed and then Lee followed a week later. His step son is handling the estate. He has his black buggy project listed for sale already here in WA and will be also selling Lee's blue buggy which is on the Oregon Coast. If anybody has an interest in either on feel free to reach out to me and I can get you in contact.

Lee went out of his way to help anybody and everybody that he came in contact with here especially. His is already and will be missed.

A special STF Dirtpile salute...here's to Lee!
It is not Mickey Moused.....It's Desert Engineered!

Very sad to hear this. Lee made very significant contributions to STF for many years. His steady posting and ability to keep conversations rolling kept STF active on many occasions when participation flagged. Great car lover. Great VW lover. Great guy. Rest in peace.
