This is a fitech fuel injector just moved to the end casting. I will be using 4 of the 8 injectors this unit comes with. Two in the throttle body and one at each end casting. The big reason for at the port injector is idle quality. You don't get the puddling like you would with just at the throttle body (like a carb). It will control the 4 injectors as if they were installed at the throttle body (batch fire). It will set DTC's for the 4 injectors that aren't plugged in, but will not cause any driveability issues. When this unit gets switched to my race bug all 8 injectors will be used. 4 in the throttle body unit and 2 at each plenum.

I got it up and running late Saturday. Sunday took it to a cruise with our vw club and took it to work today. I had some tuning to do but figured out where I had it adjust wrong at and it looks to be running good now. If all goes well tomorrow I’ll hook the safeguard up and start adding timing!

I've gotten a fix-a-ticket for those blue dots b4.

Although I'm glad there are options, but I still don't get draw-through with fuel injection.

I've heard that (about the blue dots) before, but I've been running them for years with no issues.

So I haven’t given any info since I’ve started driving and tuning on the fitech. Main issue I’ve been trying to tune out is a buck/jerk at low rpm steady cruise, so still working on that. I hooked up the J&S Safeguard this morning and drove it home for lunch- wow! I made 3 good pulls under boost and the safe guard kept it from pinging. The power felt great. 13psi 91 octane. Without it I could maybe get one good pull but start to ping on the top end. I was really surprised how easy to install and set up it is. And I opted for the gauge as well so I can see it doing it’s stuff.

Good to see your getting this sorted, 13 # is great on pump gas, most i ever got was about 12 # on 93 octane

More update- I’ve finally made some headway on tuning. It is running great for “normal people driving”. Next up I’ll be pushing it a bit harder getting into the fun zone (WOT and boost). Since it learns it will do all this tuning on its own, but it does it slower and in small increments. I found that early on u was making to big of changes too often and not giving it time to learn the new setting I put in. So I was confusing it in a way. I was talking with Aj on Friday and I found I the way I went about the tuning is actually the opposite of how he has done it, but he said since it’s working keep it up. Haha. I’m loving the start up on it. No throttle. Just turn the key and it’ll fire up and hold an idle like a new car. And with the safeguard installed it accelerated like a new car

Update- again! Had some more issues that I haven't been able to iron out. Reinstalled my Ede' but am not giving up on FiTech. I've narrowed it down to only a few possibilities left causing my issue (intermittent misfire. key off and restart and misfires go away). Since I'm running the 8 injector unit programmed as a 4 injector it may be this ecu just doesn't like what its seeing at times. So, I'm going to install a 4 injector ecu and see what happens. I have swapped everything else out for new units and not just on the fitech but also plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, with no change. When it runs right it runs absolutely amazing- almost doesn't feel like an old bug! I'll pick up the new ecu in a few weeks and get everything swapped back to fitech. I'll repost after that.
In the mean time, I'm setting up one of Aj's 2 bbl fitech units on a 2054 and I have a 4 injector unit to install on a 2498 for a couple friends. Hoping all will go well for them right out of the box.

One thing that happened to me on my fitech was the map seal would swell and I wouldn't change the load causing it to run like sh!t, I pulled the ecu off and trimmed the gasket and problem fixedImageImageImage

Yep- that is one thing that I did as well. I also had an issue with the map sensor reading causing an intermittent high idle. There is a setting you can stop it from monitoring the map at idle.

Lol, actually I’m using it now for the power supply to my safe guard. Sorry, it’s gonna have to stay!
