What did you do to your turbo today?

I tried to heat it with my propane torch. I got it to move maybe .0625". Then it seems like the crank soaked up the heat.

These are the same rockers I have always ran. I don't need the .625" lift of the new cam though so I'm going to get a 1.3:1 set of rockers form Shag.

You did remove the snap ring that sits above the brass gear, right?

Brookester I tried to get my powdercoater to do my boost hats like that with the 2-tone ribs...he couldn't figure it out. Progress is looking good!

Wow, Mario. I wonder if the .625" lift is what took out your rocker tips? Still, I would have thought the filter would catch the debris before it gets sent to the bearings. How's the oil pump looking?? Make sure the threads are nice and lubed up on the puller and give it hell. Tapping on the puller with tension on the gear might help, just don't pound on it too hard, cranks can bend.

I had some black paint laying around so I used that.

Brass ring is off along with the spacer. I'll try the lube and tap method

Was it a CB gear per chance?

They are CB, just double checked.

I had to hone the inside of my CB gear to fit the CB 82 crank. It was way too tight of a press fit before.

Same thing here, my CB gears were tight like a tiger. Pat had told me there was a run of them that weren't finished correctly, so I just lightly sanded the crank one before install.

You need a oxy acetil torch to put the heat in the gear quickly to not heat soak the crank. Get it a dull red in ~30 seconds of good heat bathing the whole thing, then slam the puller on it and give it hell. The worst you will do is break a puller if you use a small 3/8 impact gun on it. It should snatch that gear off. It went on after all

You could throw the crank in the freezer first to get a little extra working time.

You might contact CB Perf and see if they will sell you just the crank gear. Cut/grind the gear off if you have to...carefully. Depending on the cost it might beat hurting the crank and/or your puller in the process. Wish you were a little closer Mario, for more than a couple reasons .

I don't have an oxy torch unfortunately. Just a mapp gas torch. I'll go try again.
