My guess is that it wouldn't be enough to really matter, just enough to be measurable. Obviously longer swing-links would reduce this, but then we're back to the packaging thing again.....
From what I understand the swingset compensates for the castor gain in turn. As the outer tie raises in turn the swingset also raises on the high side and so forth. It is not a easy design to setup, but once it is it is very dependable and the gear box is tough. I doubt there will be zero bumpsteer in turn, but will be the best I can do. At a 120 bucks a new gear could be replaced at any time. The drag link is important as it helps the sector shaft live a long life.

And Tiko-I am a overstressed insomniac who is always broke and no longer a buff young stud....not much cool factor no more. I like to escape under my welding hood and burn rod, escaping to my happy place :(

Well, I played some more with the steering arms, rack height and tie rods. I am calling it quits on the geometry now, everything seems to work. I am going to focus now on the plate details.
All toe measurements at outside edge of tire with 19" travel.
@ride = .15
@bump = .01 in
@droop = .01 out

This is where I got the saginaw idea from. Money, I am not even worried about it! Should be about 350. I think we are done spending for some time now. We have more work than we need parts.

If your going to borrow ideas, Stewarts Race Works is the right place to look.

BTY- you are way over engineering this Thing. Just buy some metal and build a damn car. All these fancy drawings you and Desertgal do :? I can't even read a tape meassure to within a 1/2" and you guys are worried about a 1/128" of scrub :roll:

Here's a good story. So last weekend we are out in the desert. I'm beating the crap out of my car as usual. Then I notice a few new clunking noises. So I check them out. I broke the shraider valve off my front shock and both linkpins are loose. Damn we still have a day of driving to do. So we jammed a bolt into the valve to keep dirt out and what ever oil is left in. Didn't touch the link pins. Off on our next ride. I decide to baby it (which is only 40 through the rough stuff instead of 60). Then we find a good jump, hit that a dozen times or so. I couldn't tell the differnce with a good shock or bad, tight link pins or loose.

The moral of the story......get those damn cars done so we can go for a ride!!

...and yes I'm jelous 'cause I want one of your Things. :mrgreen:

Clint, you are the man. Denny is lucky to have you building his car 8)

How much money do you think will be in each chassis? Just the roller without shocks.

Do you mean cold hard cash, without labor. Or what it would take to roll one on a trailer for you?
