Tried to find a pic of the bus with the ally engine lid but couldn't so this will have to do for now -for all the non believers
Should have a nice fly by video of the bus with engine lid online soon when LARD gets his multicoloured lunch box (apple mac) working again.
Regarding legalities over here it ain't worth the risk with VOSA and the Police you could quite easily loose your driving licence for such major infringements like turbos hanging out the back.If you look carefully at the pic you can see the Dzus fasteners tabs attached to the rear bar and the original decklid hinges
Type 4 Unleashed wrote:Piston pin heights, can come quite short. The pics are of an older design 104.8mm bore, 23.6mm pin, Ross piston with a pin height of .930". These I have been
saving for a big stroker.
You will more than likely have to have a piston that uses around a 2.950" length pin in order to have enough material in the pin boss to off set it as much as you
want. You can get some of the clearance from the small end of the rod, I just picked up a set of rods with a small end width of .800" for .787" - 20mm pins, which
are used as piston guided rods . But most rods that most of us deal with have a small end width of just over 1.0".
I mix and match as needed and even slightly modify from what I acquire, to get things to work for me. But I think it will be a little harder for you.
As for a 5.7" rod with a 90 stroke, thats a 1.61 rod to stroke ratio, I think is way to short, you need at least a 6.0" rod (1.7 to 1) but better yet a 6.2" rod (1.75 to 1)
Good info
Back to the heads and what's going on well it's summer here and we do actually have a small one so best make the most of it can't be stuck to a PC screen all the time. I shall be back on the job soon and will update you on the progress. I was sidetracked with some new ideas for a crankcase and did a lot of work on a type 1 head also

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
No need for sarcasm! What have you developed personally? Do you have ANY idea what it takes? Just saying..
It is still there on the site as a promise : http://www.vwspeedshop.com/pages.php?pageid=11
If the coming products will be as nice as their currently developed headers, TB's and manifolds, it could be worth the wait
