Yes, I still have the original dizz intact...
(together with your your earlier instructions on how to set-it up
with marking on the engine & dizz intact, good thing too, somehow all records in Shoptalk can be located-- all I need to do is plunk it in... OK, I will put every thing back and see how things go.
Centrifugal/vacuum dizz - VW 113-905-205 AL same spec for AE or AD for 1970 *1600 Beetle with Auto-Stick Trans
Spark Plug: W8AC
Points: 01 011
Condensor: 02 039
Vacuum Can: 07 138
Timing At: 0 deg TDC @ 800-950rpm with strobe / vacuum hose disconnected and plugged.
Initially set it to 0º, then with the vacuum hose off, rev the engine to 3900 watching the advance. If it goes to 30º +- about 2-3º, then the setting of 0º is correct but if the timing only goes to about 22-23º, then you need to set it to 7.5º BTDC.
Advance/Retard Range:
Vacuum: 8-12deg Adv Centrifugal: 13-16deg @ 2200rpm -- 25-28deg @ 3900rpm
