Just picked up a set of 42mms of a Yamaha 1100 160FX jet ski, new in box, ~$65.

Theres also a set of 06/07 GXSR600 TBs on EBay right now, also 42mm, dual injectors.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... %26fvi%3D1

I'm bidding but wouldn't mind if someone else jumped on them, as the 600 TBs always go for <$75. I only bid 50 IIRC, they reposted once already.

(the 1100s have the injectors I need anyway for the current project)

Those 600 injectors should be OK to ~150HP, and are the latest dual orifice type.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Now I have 2 sets, the Yamahas are true ITBS that bolt together, flange mount. Will post decent pics when I can.

Those went pretty cheap..No? How much was the set for the jet ski? 42mm is good for what cc motor? 2.0L? Do you use any elctronics from the bikes?

Not bad price, esp considering the Jet Ski ones were NIB.

I think the 600s were the steal, but I didn't have to pay shipping on either set, (the 600s had free shipping, the Waverunner set were local, seller delivered)

Thw 160FX are probably destined to go on std IDA manifolds, as "stretching" them 10mm is easy, as they are true ITBs, and a flat bolt pattern adapter is easy.

I suppose one could use the bikes electronics, but I'm not sure how home tunable it would be, and a MS setup wouldn't cost much more vs a factory ECU used and wiring harness.

42mm TBs will flow was well or better than 44IDFs, perhaps even 48s, so basically anything NA under 3L?

The 160FX TBs are only ~56mm tall--- Very short.

Teflon coating of the Throttle Body:

http://tinyurl.com/awvbu

-[quote]-
The final modifications considered the affects of air flow on the performance of the engine. Through research it was found that the addition of a Teflon coating on the inside of the throttle body on Chrysler's 3.3 liter gasoline powered engine results in 28% more air than stock at 30% open throttle due to the reduced friction between the throttle body and the air.

The GMI throttle body was coated by Polydyn & Intake, of Texas, as well as having the throttle plate profiled by Peter's Engineering for the smoothest possible flow. Air flow restrictions were also minimized by port matching throughout the intake system. This smoothes out overlaps in material caused by standard production tolerancing.

Might reduce pumping losses a little. interesting.

Highly dubious coating w/Teflon made a 30% difference, .03% perhaps.
(Otherwise they would be coating aircraft with Teflon, even if it was .03% it would save money on gas for the airlines)

30% less frictional loss....I would believe. But that does not equal 30% more airflow. I also likely believe that .03%...or perhaps even 3%.
Maybe this was with throttle plate profiling combined and they forgot to seperate them.
The throttle plate alone creates vast quantities of turbulence. Ray
