How big can we go with the WBX?

Here's the place for info on converting to a Type V motor!

Isn't drill pipe the right size?

Really good grade of steel...
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

With oil at >$100/barrel, they're punching holes in the ground faster every day `round here.

You can't walk into a steel scrap place without dripping over a pile of old drill pipe.

I'll see if I can score a few feet that isn't too bad, maybe even to get some new stuff.

I do have a 13" lathe at work...

With the US Dollar as it is, it might be cost effective for you to have RIMCO or such turn you up a custom set, even with shipping.

The US is likely a cheaper source than a LOT of places by now.

Another good starting point would (possibly) be a set of the 101.6 T1 jugs made for the WBX pattern... Knock off (most) of the fins, trim a little, oring the top, done.

OK.. good suggestion.. custom set from USA sounds like a plan..

I tried to get some info out of Wiseco but they just said see our european distributor.. but as they make the pistons for GW I was hoping they could say, yes we can do a variation on them and this would be the part number.. the euro distributors wont have a clue about the "specials" for our engines so will be bloody hard work... so I am not gonna....

Mmm.. use some aircooleds.. dont think its worth the hassle.. and still have to find/make pistons for it.. 101's... might be a bit big.. Oettinger went with 98's for some reason.. they did a lot of work on that..

I dont know what to do about head sealing rings though.. any suggestions??

He is from NORWAY ;) BIG difference.. hehe

he made 728Hp with this engine . insane.
Latest news is that the engine blew ti millions of pieces when trying to get even more out of it.

here's some 1/8 mile action with a milder version of the engine ~525HP

If you are doing a watercooler, check with Darton for the price on bigger sleeves.

The ones i looked at seemed reasonable.
