Can you help me out and see if two 5.4" guages will fit in the Ghia Speedo/Clock area? I don't mind making the holes mo-bigger if there is enough room. These get all the functions into two gauges and there is an adapter to display the wideband A/F ratio on the Tach digital window.

I'm in Mexico and the car is in Oregon and I'm dying to know if these can be made to work.

I have spent a lot of time getting educated on gauges. I get my KG
back thurs morning with the new heads,cylinder &pistons thus, I ordered
two gauges(oil pressure & fuel )......the clock was replaced by the oil pressure gauge.

I wanted to know the oil pressure when I start it.

I purchased VDO for several reasons:
1. they match the KG speedometer
2. they were priced good
3. I liked the appearance of the stock dash

You get what you pay for. Sometimes.
Sometimes you get pretty dash filler that pretends to be actual instrumentation, for ~the cost of actual instrumentation.

Just FYI the gauges that I purchased are made by VDO and are made specifically for BECK Speedsters. Not pretty dash filler here. Just saying.

Hi RHough,

To be period correct in a '72, you should keep your speedo and add a white-numeral on black background tach. A properly styled direct fit is the 914 tach. VW wimped out on us Ghia owners by installings clocks instead of tachs.

If you want to be period correct to what the Ghia represents, you need a Porsche 356 tach face and a matching speedo. Both are available from the Spyder kit car makers.

I realize your car is for the street, so you need a speedo, but in a pure racer the tach is up front and prominent, flanked by oil pressure and temp for us air cooled guys.

I thought about this long and hard.
I want 7 functions + turn signal & high beam indicators.
Tach
Speedo
Fuel Level
Oil Pressure
Oil Temperature
Voltage
Wideband O2

I thought about adding a row of gauges to the dash for that JC Whitney look ... but decided that keeping the spirit of two big gauges and not adding extra brackets etc was what I can live with.

The ones going in the car are White on Black (the image is Red on Carbon Fibre) ... The form is close enough and the function/accuracy/adjustablity is outstanding.

Can you get a coolant temp readout range that is usable on an ACVW?
Anything short of a decent coldpoint referenced TC gauge would be a shame spending that sort of $$$.

Going to put the coolant temp sender on the fullflow filter adapter. 0-300°F should cover the range I'm comfortable with. I'm only looking at 120HP +/- from 1968cc, a W-120 cam, and Weber IDF's. I don't anticipate oil temperature to be a problem.

Well......I ended up buying VDO oil pressure,gas level & a speedhut speedometer(gps).
