In-line Screw Pump 330LPH, High-Pressure (Pierburg P/N 7.00228.51)
I found them cheaper but there is good info here

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

One forum that mentioned them had a post that theorized there was only one way those got smuggled out of Bugatti...
(I would have guessed in a thermos, but there are other possibilities

The last Pierburg pump I bought didn't even last a year. Not going that route again. It was $150 bucks our shop cost. It was a cross reference model to a Porsche 928 pump that I ran on my baja. I only run Bosch now.

One failure and you give up on a brand all together?Steve Arndt wrote:The last Pierburg pump I bought didn't even last a year. Not going that route again. It was $150 bucks our shop cost. It was a cross reference model to a Porsche 928 pump that I ran on my baja. I only run Bosch now.

Re: Fuel pump died, what pump now?
That is 100% for me. LOL
My dad's shop installs probably 10 pumps a month. He warned me when I cheeped out buying the off brand copy pump.
One tip off was the motor on the Pierburg 928 replacement pump I bought was less than half the size of the same part number Bosch. They just put a big rubber casing on it to make the diameters the same. It was nice and quiet when it worked.

Re: Fuel pump died, what pump now?
After doing my research the other night, the ones used in the supercars are brushless and require a controller. The reference number is E5LM, info here - http://www.mepax.com/?page=produit&prod_id=55Piledriver wrote:

This is the little brother... But still capable of lots of fuel at high pressure. If you would like the full specs they are here - http://art.rexbo.net/pierburg/pdf/pg-pi ... en-web.pdf

Re: Fuel pump died, what pump now?
Pierburg isn't really the same company anymore.
(subsidiary of TI Automotive...)
Bosch isn't really the same quality it once was either...
I'd consider one of those if I didn't have room for a feeder and sump, as they at least have some vertical draw capability, so they can actually suck. The brushless setup sounds trick, but are probably stupid expensive.
A 044 has better specs than the top of the line version of the E3L, and lower max current draw... Roller cell pumps do really prefer a feeder though.

Re: Fuel pump died, what pump now?
I am running a used factory Subie pump in my fuel tank and it is still working great with E85. I have a spare but it is hard to beat the quality of OE parts.
