If your going to look at injector dynamics, be sure your sitting down first! While your on their website, take a look at their calculator. That will help you decide what injectors to get. http://injectordynamics.com/injector-selector/

Re: Project XXX HP
Yeah I had browsed them before.... some price on them especially in the uk
On the plus side I could use the 725’s and be well within my limit at 21psi....
Currently pondering over charge coolers
I’m leaning toward having it in the parcel area. It’s out of the engine bay so less heat soak and I have loads of room....
Current though is TB behind the shroud pointing to the left, and having the turbo go up a little then back through the firewall, cooler, then back out the fire wall on the right and a 90 into the TB.....
Hopefully the pics attach okay

I think that's a smart place for it. I was going to do that myself, but it's just so hot here all the time I didn't want anything adding even one degree to my cabin.

I guess the main thing to consider is throttle cable and the direction of pull etc.

Yeah I’m quite lucky with that and I’ve moved the throttle arm around so it works for me, currently set to pull from right to left. So can have the the cable coming in the stock ish location the round to the TB, just a case of making a little holder for it, and probably a bracket to hold the TB rigidly to the engine
I think......
I think......

Re: Project XXX HP
Some more ally pipe and silicone arrived as did the injectors (the smaller ones, will Atleast get me going and we’re very cheap)
But the main thing I’m excited about is my turbo arrives tomorrow!

Re: Project XXX HP
I don't think the issue of having a oversized turbo is going to be it only boosts at high RPM's. I think it's going to boost really late and then go almost immediately into surge. The turbo's capacity is going to out run the engines to consume it. The figured I ended up with when trying to use a stock turbo on a non turbo car was that the diesel donor had to be about twice the size to spool at maybe 3500 RPM's and up. I think your turbo is stock on a 7 liter which would be good on a car with some lag but not an instant booster at the 3.0 liter mark. The best used turbo I could find was off of a saab or volvo in my locale. They ended up on the efficiency island of a turbo map and the waste gates or housings were in usable condition. Is a compressor map available for a HX40?
