Well although the precision turbo's are a winning turbo I wont be spending that much on a turbo for a street car. I can get GT 35 turbo's for little money, Not the quality of a precision but I'm sure it will give me more air than the GT 25 I'm using now. I have seen T04's cheap too ,but these I think are too big for a small 1900 cc motor

the high dollar turbos seem to flow alot at lower boost levels compared to older turbos hence more power at lower PSI.... advances in technology i guess!

Gunna experiment 1st with what I have.
So got the turbo off. I'm Hoping to get the cold side wheel and housing enlarged with one off a different turbo, but not sure if its poss. That way I have the small exhaust housing to spool up quick and the larger cold side for the increase in AIR to the engine. Its a GT2556S, not a conventional turbo really. The cold out pipe has a 2" O.D and the wheel must only be about 1/34 " bit small I think.

Yeah that might be a little small. Sounds about like the one I run on my 1600 and it spools pretty quick.

I'm finding purchasing the right size intercooler with the in and outlet in the right place pretty hard at the moment.

Have you checked sites like this? There are a few that are identical, but I've bought some stuff from them and have had no gripes.

I'm expecting the turbo coming back with a 2.5" turbo out to the carbs, so thinking about restrictions and how much air a pipe will flow until the size of the I.D becomes a restriction. My Tee pipe to the carbs is 2",this matches my old turbo which also is 2", so no restriction there really. So I might have to re do the Tee pipe to match, or does it even matter. I do no that a TEE pipe really is for use on a draw through as the air fuel being blown into a Tee pipe gets chopped up at the Tee giving a better mix but on a blow through were its just air I might be better making Y PIPE which will be less of a restriction

Seems like I read a tee is better even on a blow through. I don't remember why though.

A T section will cause turbulence which some say is good when you mix fuel and air. I believe turbulence is never a good thing and that you should make your intake system as effective as absolutely possible. I had a deep V welded inside the T section on my intake system.

I can see a Y or a V being better as well, The air from the turbo on a Tee will hit the backside of the pipe and bounce down the pipe to the carbs, with a draw through that's what you want as its mixing the air fuel as it goes to the heads but a blow through its different as its only air that needs to go to the heads , and it needs to get there as easy as possible.

I agree that a Y makes more sense. I could have sworn that maybe it was Wally that posted some findings from a test he did. I could be wrong on who it was though. But I do remember them recommending a T over a Y though.
