With Turbo and Super charging you can create massive horsepower with vw motors.

Mine is T3/T4 with .63 housing.. 2.5" is what I use as well. Of course my wastegate is separate. Might consider a 3" pipe if you use an internal gate.

I run just a dump pipe about 10" long, pretty dang loud!

I looked into a snowmobile silencer, looks similar to the little bullet muffler pic above.

Well, plans have changed, the "great deal" that I thought that I got turned into a return that cost me $50 in shipping. However the turbine outlet on that mismatched chinese turbo measured 2.27". I am hoping that a short exhaust (less than 24") doens't require a 3" exhaust pipe. I can understand why a front engine exhaust system with emissions and muffler would benifit from a larger exhaust especially at higher RPM but hopefully a 2.5" system willl satisify my goals. I am interested to see what the turbine outlet size is on an Garrett turbo. Will be using external wastegate.

Ok here’s the deal,,,,lol,,,,I have the same turboT3/T4 ,,,I started with 2.5in exhaust then added a muffler worked ok,,,,changed to a 3in exhaust ran a lot better on top end,,,installed 5in long baffle to quiet it down without any problems,,,so 2,5in ok,,,,3in better and sounds better

Thanks for the info, at what RPM do you see an improvement with the larger exhaust? How much different does the larger exhaust sound? Is it deeper or louder or?
Thanks Again
