Re: 2276 build
Are you planing on reusing anything off your 1600 block?
I only ask as I was contemplating reusing my case for a build but I’m torn as the more research I do the more I think I need to buy.
Sorry not trying to steal your tread.

No I'm not. But I may reuse the case of my first 1600. Which I have already bored to 94mm. I would feel better using a new aluminum one though. I will reuse my TB, end castings/plenums, and of course the barrel cooler. My header is 1 3/8" so that won't work, and I will probably do something different with the intake. It's 2" and I may go to a 2.5". More research to do there. I don't think the new cam I have will work for the big build. It's 422 and 150@50 with a 1.1 rocker. Would work great on a 1915cc. It's definitely too big for my 1600.

Re: 2276 build
My local bug shop engine builder said don't bother using anything other than an aluminum case for big boosted motors...which has caused me to delay my build until I can afford one. Sure you can build one from a stock block, but eventually its going to wear and start weeping oil when the case is stretched apart with 20 lbs of boost. He has a 2332 that he has rebuilt several times with the same aluminum block.

Are you going to piece it together or bit by bit or are you thinking of getting a builders engine?

Re: 2276 build
Good question. I would consider a builders engine if they would let me make modifications. Like compression and probably the cam.
But I hadn't really gotten that far yet. Would mostly depend on if I decide to use the case I have.

I'll ask my son how much boost he has ran?
I've had my 2276 up to maybe 18 lbs.. any higher i'd piss myself,
lol

Cool thanks. I know those Hondas can take some serious boost.

LOL I replied on thesamba. But I made sure my response was of no help to buguy! I didn't want to get thrown out of thesamba. hahahamadmike wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 4:05 am You posted on slambalike their gonna help?

with all their expert turbo advice

use the case already cut for 94's will run cooler then Aluminum case![]()
use TW 92 ,u won't feel ant diff between 94&92,, I've cracked 94's
good forged pistons!!! I've had great luck with Mahles (spelling?)
maybe them new I beam Rods CB has or H-beams? and don't use 'clearanced' stock rods on a stroker![]()
just slap in a FK8 with 1:4 's rockers you'll have good bottom end w/the long stroke
I'd get a 78mm crank from DPR4mm diff ain't much but less flex

this will be my next motor I'd like to build too.
as for heads? pick one with 42X37.5 valves![]()

Haha!
That dude there said I had to run race ware head studs. I looked at them. Over $500. Not a chance!

Yeah, that other site is a trip. Usually, if I feel I can actually help the poster, I'll just PM them. Too many people that "parrot" information that I find questionable due to my experiences. And God help you if you disagree with the 3 or 4 SambaGods that get quoted. lol
Back to your build, I don't have experience with e85, by as far as 91 octane pump gas I have 7500 miles on my daily driver, have taken plenty of 2hr freeway runs to the LA area, and deal with extreme temps here in the desert. I know my engine on 12psi has made just over 200hp (255hp on 16psi and I had a cracked cylinder at that time) to the wheels and it will run all day long. And gets pretty damn good fuel economy!

I don't know if you know Charlie Boatright, but he has a 400hp (chassis dyno just a few weeks ago) daily driver. He wasn't using pump gas for that pull (c16), but his a street legal drive on the freeway car. I believe his engine is a 2276. He's using fitech fuel injection (draw through) and I believe he has a turbo the same size as mine but his has bearing.

Re: 2276 build
Nice. I don't know him. I don't doubt that it can be done at all though. I used my car as a daily for over 2 months on 30 psi and a pile of junk parts. And I push it pretty hard. It's so fun at 30 psi, I boost to there a ton in third gear when I drive it.
I did take the car for a short drive tonight. I didn't bring the laptop but the clutch seems to hold fine and the trans shifted good still. Who knows for how long though.

Re: 2276 build
There is a reason chromoly and other better studs exist though guys. Stock 8mm studs do break or stretch under big loads. I don't have racewares in mine, but I do have a half priced copy that is NLA made by bugpack. I have them for both turbo engines. I trust throwing big power at them way more than stock 8mms. 10s are a different story. I've seen guys make low 8 second passes in the 1/4 mile with stock 10mms.
