<B>Hey Marty I mean no disrespect for the previous post. I just thought the Bon Ami suggestion might be of some benefit.
As for the flat black paint I am always curious to see who runs paint versus no paint on the cylinders. For what it is worth I use normal paint (not high heat) and it has never pealed off... Kind of makes me wonder how little heat is actually dispersed from the iron cylinders!

I know. No prob. I did'nt think they even made Bon Ami any more. I really dont know how much the black paint helps. The cylinders just look like hell within a week without it. Here is something I have proven. On a drag motor, it will cool down faster with no tin at all versus running full tin and taking the belt off for the runs or using an electric fan setup with tin. The tin actually holds the heat in.

You get the prize. I knew all that stuff, just wondered if anyone else did. I used to Build HP engines in Houston before the oil bust... Then no one had money for toys

Pillow:
It is used by a lot of starter, generator repair shops....
I don't know if anyone uses this in ACVW engines. It might insulate too much. We used it on heads and intake manifold vallies. That or you could polish all that instead..
