I have a 2165 with AJ's 42x37.5 heads. My ports are between his race port and his street port. I made 137.2 HP and 142.8 ft/lb of torque with 8.2:1 c/r, 34 vents in my 42 DCNF's, and a cam that only lifts .488 on the intake. The power was smooth all the way to peak HP at 5000 rpms at which point it leveled off because the flow potential of the carburetors was reached. I felt that for the money I spent, that his heads were more than what I should have got. The ports were absolutely gorgeous as were the chambers and exhaust ports. I highly recommend him, but it will take time to get them done just like with any other porter. Steve Tims does allot of heads for allot of fast cars too, so you may try him too. Either way be sure you start with a thick flange 044 casting. Late.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. Just a comment for you Matt. The 42 DCNF is a great carb and I guarantee you that the carb is not "flow limiting" your engine. My motor, before I changed over to fuel injection ran the same 42 DCNFs (Berg specials) with 34 mm vents and made 170 HP @ 6500 rpm. Your engine output is very respectable and I'm sure runs very nice, but you still have a ways to go before your carbs "stop flowing". Bigger carbs will probably provide you some more horsepower but the 42 DCNF is a great carb, with lots of potential. I also used this carb in an autocross car and never had carb flooding, in corners, secondary to the "poor float bowl design." Cheers!

Steve Tims and Fumio Fukaya have always been the tops. Lots of talent in Riverside.
