I always chuckle about those $500+ "chips" folks buy for their Hondahs.

(You are paying for the knowledge/programming/development on a dyno. The chips themselves are ~$1-$10 blank, depending on type.)

Make an eeprom for a TDI at that price and you would move 1000 a month...

I was wondering when you tested the Hp increase of the chip and 1.4's was there anything else on the motor? Do you feel signifacant gains can be realized by the addition of an exhaust, compression, port and polishing to that very same motor?

Errr, That sounds like a Great up-Grade, but I would take a look at the valvesprings in a Wasser before I tried to ask them for more Performance.

Will the Stock valvesprings handle having the Boost hold open the intakes?

they are working fine on my Vanagon with 135k miles. Because of boost, I don't need to go past 5k to make a ton of power.

There actually are 9mm OEM 1.1 rockers to be found if you hunt around the wrecking yards. Apparently VW used 9mm for a short time before upping to 10mm in the wbx rockers. I've managed to find several sets at my favorite VW yard. That means you can use the 9mm Rhino-feet.

You can also use any 8mm Type1 rockers even with the wbx dual springs. Seat pressure stock is only about 100#, 200# at .400", coil bind hapens at about .500" anyway unless modified. The 8mm Rhino-style from CB are plenty strong for this app.

The swivel-feet (Rhino style, whatever you call them) always need to have about 1.5mm ground off the nose of the rocker, as well as 1.5mm rocker shims. Those things and stock steel pushrods will put geometry just about perfect.
