Our crank is NOT the same crank as the bugpack or Century crank. Our crank is produced at a different factory and to different standards. The material content of our crank is different than other cranks. In appearance they look the same but it stops there. We lowered the price to our dealers for a short period of time as an incentive to buy more product. This is why they are passing the savings on to you. Dont worry about the crank. It is a good buy that wont last very long.

CB cranks have CB forged into the part. They are plainly marked. And the best quality you can get at any price!

I was just relaying what I was told by Vdubb Parts unlimited and by Jason Laffer @ VW Paradise. I was trying to locate a bugpack 86mm with chevy journals last month. I called all the heavy builders out there and found 1 crank . I'm not trying to sturr up trouble . I Run all kinds of stuff from Bugpack and CB. The Blow out sale on the CB cranks is a great deal for anyone out there that wants to build somthing bigger with out breaking the bank . The heart of a strong running VW engine is in the crank , I think. At those prices , I'm sure there will be alot more big engines on the street !!

I didnt want you to think that you were stiring things up. I just wanted to clarify a few things. I like our crank, I also like bugpacks flanged crank. I have nothing to say about the other brand you mention, that is good I mean. Dont worry about what you said, I am glad you no the real story now.

Now I can build my bus engine @ 78x88 instead of 69x88. Just gotta figure out what to do with my 69 CW welded one now.

whee.

My shop got a flyer in the fax machine early this week on the crank deal, the rod deal, and the narrowed beam deal. I had to call to verify it was legit, the prices were so good!

Hey Mark,

I know what you can do with the 69CW crank  , SELL IT TO ME!!!

Seriously though, if you want to get rid of it let me know how much you want for it. It would fit great in that block you sold me :D

Do you have stroker pistons for the 88x78 motor? or will A pistons do alright.

A's should be ok. Pushing it with a 78, but should work.

Gene, I'll email you a little later today. I'll give you first dibs. It needs a little journal polish, but it's nothing much.. it's just been sitting and is starting to lose the shine. All the mains are 0.010, and I think the rod journals are too. I have bearings for it, but the mains are for a non linebored case. The rod bearings would work for you if you have std sized rods. It's a welded OEM crank not cast.
