Well E, you have a type 4, so you can just slide the pushrods tubes out without unbolting the head and fit the missing tin.
Finally you can take full advantage of this fantastic type 4 feature!
Don't you feel happy now ?

Have fun!

YUP! :D

When I was running my 1700cc with the "Cali" conversion, I was running the type 4 under cylinder tins. Seem to work ok. I tried to modify them a bit by opening the outer ends more, not sure if it helped or hurt the setup.

Will definitely install the type 1 ones under the cylinders.

Anything will work "OK"... But why not make it as good as possible???

Developments are made to be used!

Hence why l'm using the type 1 tins now.

Oh, almost forgot, I was able to use the preasure sender with the DTM in the stock location(VDO dual sender Oil preasure/oil light). tight fit, but it fits just fine.

As promised:

As you see, I just sqeezed the edges flat. Removing them would have been neater tho...
Also, the part under the head I cut off in order to resemble it more as the type 1 tin.

Here are they installed under the cylinders:

It's not nicely coated, but clean and I _may_ want to adjust it some more

Hey Wally, thanks. I was thinking of snipping the outer "ears" ff the stock type 4 tins and bending the middle "diverters" down, to replicate the type 1 setup. Never got around to do it.

Sure looks sweet.

Jake, so type 1 tin under the cylinder on the head side? Again, thanks

Yes, they are.
964 Nikasils with a 100mm bore. There is an old thread where I have explained the use of those in more detail.

Type 1 under Cylinder tins ?

Post by Dominic »

Can someone post a picture of the type 1 under cylinder tin ?
Will the type 1 tins also help cooling with the stock t-4 cooling set up?
Thanks in advance.
