Sharkey,
What brand ecu do you have controlling your EFI and what size motor are you running?

steve, by bolt on does it bolt directly to the pan or does it invovle some minor welding. and does it come with a partial cage since you would not use your original cage from lummas

Hmmmm, haven't had that problem with my 52s, I have a very smooth transition from idle . No holes, flat spots, anything, just smoothness. I would be more suspect of the throttle pump enrichment causing that. either too rich or too lean. Maybe your advance curve? Sort of like the flat spot an 009 gives a 34pict. Just a guess.

It is a Wolf 3D controlling the remnants of a CB Performance kit on my 2161cc motor.

Well, it is still true that four 48s create a substantial *airflow* increase when you crack the butterflies. I've got a ways to go re: my fuel and ignition maps, and hope to have the car on a dyno in the next couple of months.

just a thought for you on throttle bodies. i am a chevrolet tech and chevrolet has been replacing thottle bodies on their new trucks right and left. the body comes from the new 4.8l,5.3l or the 6.0l engines. it measures 2.950 in dia. and includes an iac motor and a tps. the only reason they are changing them is carbon sticking. they dont stick once cleaned. anybody that is in a chevy or gmc dealership should have free access to these because gm does't want them back. i plan on using one on my 2275 type 1 as a draw-thru, not exactly sure what ecm to use yet, but most aftermarket ecm's use gm style electronics. i almost forgot the one other thing, it's got a 4.0" neck on the inlet where a clamp on style filter ( k&n ) could be used.

That depends on how much lumpy idle you can put up with, I think. If you are going turbo with a single TB, then huge cams aren't a factor. I'll be trying out an 86B with quad 48mm throttle bodies soon. TPS load sensing.

I was told with a single throttle body and EFI, you can use any cam up to 296 degrees advertised duration with no problems.

Steve, What manufacturer's throttle bodys do you plan to use? I think I have determined that i'm going to run dual 48mm t/b's also just because it's much easier to tuck everything in and out of site.
