Re: Amr500 on 1641cc ! 119hp -- 174Nm
Hey,
1 i have a pertronix system without points. Heavy flame thrower coil.
Info on the advance is in my little black book, with have to come back on that.
2 the pulley like you suggest is not bad but you have to modify a lot to get it work. Lots of custom machining.
The belt like me, gates micro - V is verry common and you would only have to get 1 pulley made because all othe pulleys are included in the scat serpentine kit like mine.
3 carb, use any you want but make sure it can delliver enough fuel because when you tune it RIGHT it wil use quit a lot more then normaly aspirated. I used the dellorto's 36mm because i allready had 2 of them mounted on my engine before i went supercharged.
Efi is always better and easier to tune but you will have other problems, intercooling will be nessecary and Supercharger temps will increase a lot!
Going with a carb will mean you will have to make compromises.
And you definatly need an afr sensor and gauge!
Tuning is not real easy causde not much people really know how to tune a blown engine right!
Hope i helped you in some way!

sure, it's help me a lot, less frog around.............
And you definatly need an afr sensor and gauge! You mean O2 sensor?
thank you,
Greg.

Yop,
anybody got experience with Mikuni Carbs (45 or 48 FCR series)?
http://www.v-performance.com/articles/m ... ions_.html
maybe a way for single horizontal carb, easy to tune.

Got everything off the car again. Had to re-do the amr mount on the fuel pump base. Is ready for positioning as soon asi get my custom pulley, somewhere round next week.
Made the carburator manifold some 10cm shorter. That should place the carb more in the warmth of the engine bay and reduce the freezing...
Picture will follow soon.

What about Bypass Valve or external wastegate? Not necessary?

Havent felt the need to place one.
And i dont even know what to look for. If it would "blow off" it would release an air fuel mixture in the engine bay....

The pulley is shipped! Hope to get it early next week.
In the meantime i polished the blower intake i made on top of the carb (instead of the filter, see previous posts)
Also painted the amr500 black and polished the back end.
When the mounts are welded again, i will paint them too.
Pics will followwhen i get working on it again
Geetz.

Re: Amr500 on 1641cc ! 119hp -- 174Nm
Its a draw through... bypass/popoff not needed, although backfire pop offs were sometimes used, they were only to keep the carb attached in case of violent backfires on draw through blower setups.N2C_coxiste wrote:What about Bypass Valve or external wastegate? Not necessary?
Can't use an intercooler for the same reasons, would fill up with fuel and/or explode on backfire.
Wategate works on the exhaust side only, so it could be done if needed, only needed if the internal wastegate isn't keeping up.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

exactly the same reason I had to use WAI. My is Coolingmist - injector CM2, starting work at boost 4 Psi. Supercharger is Denso SC12 max boost 7 Psi

And what was the reason?
Nice setup, what does the sc12 produce? What cc is your engine?

Re: Amr500 on 1641cc ! 119hp -- 174Nm
reason - occasional backfire in intercooler
1200ccm/revolution
2007cc, WebCam 119/218 - LC14
crankshaft pulley 170mm
SC pulley is stock - 125mm

Hmmmm. I dont see an intercooler.... looks pretty carbed to me, no injection?
On an engine like that you should put a smaller sc pulley on there, will make lots of boost then.

instead a intecooler I have WAI
No injection, draw through DellOrto DHLA40
Bug is pulling very hard.. SC - 7 Psi is OK, but I plan to get 10Psi - max .. very good job doing WAI
