Holy sh*t dude! You almost need a paddle shifter just so you can hold onto the wheel with 2 hands!

Yes, there was something wrong with driveability last time. We think that new springs died and car lowered itself when it waited next event in our teambus nose rised. but it has some serious power now also. We are really close to take maxx out of that turbo and our injectors because it peaked boost already to 1,8 Bar and it drinks already 8,8L min of ethanol what means its close to 1000hp but we have some grip problems.

We had a really hard raceweekend.
On friday we hit the rack with broken wastegate hose and it boosted 2.2bar not 1,8 as we was expecting. The result was + 10km/h to our top speed, so it was 253 km/h @ qurter mile :S Track was cold and start was awful. 60ft was 0.7 slower than our record and time was 9.9 On the way back to box I hit it to the floor again to get some more log data and now it overboosted the engine to 3bar of boost and damaged the piston I think. Piston shuttered to little pieces on next run with low boost. It killed our engine totally. We didn´t give up and bought a stock engine quickly and after half an hour that 150€ piece of poop was next to us. It had a serious water damage and it had neeb running about 20 times over the planet. For the last qualification run we were able to start it and cruise it threw. It burned so much oil that we couldn´t tune it by using lambda. For first eliminator ring it smoked as hell but we were able to get a proper boost and mixture for it and we won that run with 1,4bar of boost. For the final the smoke was almoust gone (piston rings were finally free) and we won the race with 9.3@242 what was our stock rods record last year also.

Thanks for your response.
Engine comes off the car with 30 minutes if needed so quickly. Putting it back takes 1 hour. (We need to make new fuel lines and extra connector to engine wiring and it goes a lot quicker, these two things take about half of that time.)
A lot of extra stuff needed to do this time because for a start we needed to put a diagnonose to the old engine, and it needed taking heads off. Then we had to replace crank bearing because of my triple disck clutch and 7,25 flywheel. Engine we bought locally was so nasty and dirty so we had to clean it, replace the 10+ years old belt, heads etc. if we have our own spare engine it should be take about 2 hours to get back on track if anything fails and we need to do that. I really think that we are now able to just race because we have seen some problems and always solved them and never had same issue more than once. We have had our lesson this time too and we need to replace wastegate hoses with something better.
Today I ordered new connecting rods and as they come as 6pcs in a box we ordered 2 boxes and will build 2 engines because 7 of the old rods are reusable. (It never breaks when you have spare engine with you and this was the only time we had not.
I really hope there will be one time attack event this year, it is really ready to make 8s time but we have had some bad luck.

Re: Type 4 to V8 NA to V8 NOS to 700 HP 9s V8 Turbo conversion
seems that there is time for changing the thread title
I was so depressed because I hit 9.0 last time on last event of the passed year and this year I was not able to get quicker than 9,3 but I had invested so much time and money. So I decided to organize a testday on our track. I was able to get 32 cars to there and everybody who wanted was able to make as many passes as they wanted. As a first run I made 8.8s and also new record on 1/8th mile what was 5.6 now with amazing 205km/h and the best of it is not written so far. I made 8.8s 3 times and best of it is that top speed was 260km/h

There is also one incam video on our fanpage https://www.facebook.com/WhlsUP (first 8.8s pull with slipping clutch that was later repaired with coca cola, no more slipping with some higher boost and speed)

Next time your clutch is slipping just press the pedal when engine idling and let your friend spray coca cola threw some gearbox hole to the clutch disc. I´ve come till end of few races when this helped me out. I usually drill the small hole to cap and spray it to clutch just before burnout.

Last year I was thinking that I´ll sell that car because its finished for me when it makes 8.999 atleast. Now I´m not sure about selling it. If anybody comes and puts 25k€ on the roof I would sell it but Im quite sure its not gonna happen because that may be too high price but I wouldn´t take less.
Now Im thinking that what should I do next, if anything at all. Im thinking that I need new front axle for better drivability but I´m also thinking about what could I do to make it quicker and last few years I´m thinking about moving turbo to front of the engine (where should be the passenger seat) and move tank from that area to front of the car. I would get some more weight to front and maybe I could add some power then and I would be able to remove transmission and clutch 10 times easier without taking engine off. Removing driveshafts would be 3x easier too and I need to change the joints quite often when I add some power. Then I´m planning some weightloss from brakes, I would make new discs with alloy center and lasercutted work area. Sequential shiftcut solenoid for quicker shifting is in my mind also. 1 thing in my mind is that maybe I want funnicage for my tubular chassis. Then it would be no problem when I make quicker pass than 8.5s and Then I could remove half of the belts tube and it would help me to work on the engine. It also would let me to tilt the seat to be more comfy. Many ideas but I have to think what could I finish before first race on spring.
If anybody has some ideas or suggestions I´m listening

Re: Type 4 to V8 NA to V8 NOS to 800 HP 8s V8 Turbo conversion

As the season is ended we decided to push some more out of it.
Now with 100% closed wastegates 100% duty on injectors 100% maxed out pumps and dropping fuel pressure we were able to see 600Kw and near 1000NM from wheels :S As I was quicker than my class index I´m thinking about moving to next (OL) class next year (Last class here in estonia because we have no special track and index of it is 7.5 and most cars are between 7.8-7.6) Its a major step but we really think that we have some room to go quicker than 8.8 We need to put down only 200 more hp to make 7.9 There is no problem getting 1k hp out of it with new turbo so I´m quite sure that most difficult task is to put that all down now because 1 run we did with 260 top speed we had tire slipping problems with first three gears (200m)
