I ask because I would make some sort of box for the pump, solenoid, relay and wiring.

The reservoir is going in the trunk area of my buggy. So that ''box'' is probably going next to it.

But I also want my basic system work as good as possible so if needed i'll get the solenoid in the engine bay as close to the nozzle as possible.

Next question:

My IAT sensor is between the intercooler and throttle body

To get a good reading I woud position the IAT sensor after the throttle body and the W/M nozzle where the IAT sensor is now.

Is it okay to spray before the TB?

You want your iat sensor to see all adjustments made to the air temp before it reaches the combustion chamber. Sensor should be last in line.

Yeah, sounds logical!

So I had to make some changes to the bung where the IAT sensor was, the nozzle was'nt going deep enough in the chargepipe. So I ground that down and made it so it accepts the nozzle bung.

Also made another new bung for the IAT and its going right before the T-section on the chargepipe.

All prepped and ready to drop off at my welder.

Started mocking up the box and tank in the back.

It's gonna be a pretty big bracket but I really really don't want to drill holes in my body. This has been so since I got the buggy.

I´ll post some pictures when I get some more time in the garage.

(Btw, it´s getting real quit on stf here, not much people posting stuff or new projects.... too bad.... I like to post but also like to read..)

I hung my pump off the torsion tube. I also mounted my tank to the body mount bolt holes on the suspension.
You could hold easily make a bracket that would do the same on your buggy and keep it closer to the engine.
All you need to do is run the control wires back.
Take power from the starter bolt and feed a relay then use the ground signal from the Hobbes to activate it.

Made alot of progress with the W/M project.

Made a bracket, mounted the pump in the box and made a bracket that holds the solenoid, relay and pressure switch.

The electrical will be verry tidy and compact, enough room for the water lines to run without too tight bends.

The water line from solenoid to nozzle will go trough the bottom of the box, total lenght will be maybe 1m.

Now all that's left is to wire it, run the water lines, boost signal, weld the tank brackets and paint everything.

2 new bungs will need to be welded in the charge pipe.

Greeetzzz

Make sure your solenoid is vacuum capable. If it is not it will suck the water right out of the tank during higher vacuum cruise or decel events.
The valves are also possibly one way so make sure your supply and feed are on the correct sides.

Yess they are both marked. Pump with arrows for flow and the solenoid has an IN stamped on.

Did some primer and got all my stuff welded.

Need to paint it black gloss like all the rest on the buggy. Shopping for paint tomorrow.

Needs paint before I can finalise the wiring.

Doing green led for power on
Red led for water level low.
Red led somewhere on the dash when pump is ON.

Still waiting on the cam, those idiots of socalcarparts cant seem to figure out how to send me another invoice for the additional 55$ for the 112 lobe grind.

I thought you were going with JPM cam, lifters and springs. Why the change?

The lifters were allready on the mail, we just didnt know about it. And jpm only sells a set of cam and lifter together.

I got the lifters for free from my builder. 500€ present give or take.

So not turning that down.

Made alot of progress on the W/M kit:

Only downside, I forgot to drill a hole for the electric wiring like power, ground and dash LED.

So that´s a problem for tomorrow.

Anyways, I verry happy with the result, if it works as good as it looks then I´m a happy camper!

Goodnight!
