OFF-Roaders Rides

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Have not updated the pics yet but ive finally got motivated to finish this one I cut the body in half and added 2.5" to it so I can sit in it instead of on it... also made more clearance for the fenders.

I made up the cage and the rear suspension setup, boxed the trailing arms, lowered the rear seats, moved the starter to the top of the trans so it sits between the seats.

It started out life as a berrian nostalgia and was modified from there.

Motor is a type4/914 with 102 nickies, knuff lifters, ported heads, dry sump, CB fuel injection and FAT 930 cooling system.

I had the engine and tranny in my old rail and it would rock! With the new upgrades it should be even better.[/img]

I need to finish some glass work next week and then I should be able to pull the body off again and get some better pics of the rear. Im in the process of re-arranging the shock mounts so they are a bit stronger as well.

Leather, how is it you have a 5 lug front wheel on one side and a spindle mount on the other?
Or are you showing us pictures from 2 different configurations??
Or do you have 2 buggys with the same paint scheme???
So you think your project is taking forever eh? Well you've got nothing on me.....

Hey Leather, do you have the same tires on both sets of wheels? Or do you swap them onto the wheels when you need them?
