The head is designed for very high temp so it dosent melt, the stem is designed for good heat transfure and ware cateristics, and the tip is designed hard for the rocker tip to slide againest

Okrasa(now Oettinger---crank made by Alfing) counterweighted crank, made by German elves from the finest German steel...
I have a 74mm T4/55mm rod journal version (now with custom 5.3" Crower rods) that will see use RSN...
Thing of beauty. Absolutely the opposite of Chinese quality.

Alfing still makes cranks for Porsche/Ferrari/F1/NASCAR
Their MAIN buisiness is they make the machines that many OEMs make their cranks on.
Think Moldex, only better.

IIRC most of Bergs cranks came from Swedish Elves, awesome quality too.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Whats the quality like on a stock water boxer crank. Reason for asking is i have a waterboxer and want to rebuild it one day as a turbo monster.

Which crank are you referring to?

Also, do current Berg cranks come from the little Keeblers in the Black Forest?

Only options for WBX cranks are to have them balanced and or counterweighted by someone right?

I am wondering if the stock crank can take 600 WHP. Also for a radiator i wanted to build a 12' x 13' x 5'. I saw something on the net that stated that for a radiator of 780 cubic inches i should be able to cool an engine making 780 hp, that equates to 1 hp per cubic inch.

Awesome motor and an awesome car congrats Mat and Marco and thanks for sharing the video I really enjoyed it!
IIRC only the german made wbx had their cranks and rods made by Oettinger, engine codes MV and DJ and the 1.9L wbx also.Oettinger only makes inline cranks and engine kits (VW Golf) now. However if you want a good quality wbx crank that is available as a new replacement item you can buy them from Limbach. They make wbx aircraft engines. The cranks, case, rods and heads are exceptional quality.

I wonder if Alfing is still making those cranks for Limbach...
(Oettinger//Okrasa ordered them from Alfing)
