Hell of a score! Congratulations.

God, I feel like it. I need a fix, fast!!
My neighbors so hate me...but it's ok cuz I hate them right back:)
Here's some pics. I'm going up tonight to start grabbing the parts stash, then the end of the week I'll bring the actual cars home.
the Super
Man, I wish I had gotten there a week earlier before they sold off the seats:(
The Westy
So, I'm in the market for seats and wheels for the Super, I know that much right up front, and poptop canvas for the Westy. Like I need more projects.
Wait, you got all of that for 1k???
lol SOB, back in early July I was talking to that girl just about the seats and possibly the bus while I was down in Portland. She flim flammed on me about not knowing what to ask and I was only down for like 3 days so I figured she wanted some absurd amount and just bailed on it all. Grats on such a nice haul 3 new ACVW in what? a month and for less than 2k in New England, ROFL, that's a score.
yeah well there's no such thign as a free lunch, looks like someone stole the rims off that super already! sucks to be you man, thought you were getting a good deal and allll.....
give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.
Things are rarely just crazy enough to work, but they're frequently just crazy enough to fail hilariously.

Yeh, she was an interesting person, nice girl but when we got there she was pretty stressed and a bit scatterbrained. she really didn't want to sell either of them but when i got there they had 5 days left before they had to be out. The boyfriend wanted to sell them for scrap and she made him sell the suburban (we got that for $1500 - 1994 2500 with the 6.5 turbo diesel and no rust). I guess she ended up selling the seats for next to nothing. I didn't really care about the super, I wanted the bus and the motor. I looked on CL and she originally wanted 2500 for the pair. I wish I had gotten there before she sold the seats....
And fuser, yeh, what a bummer no wheels. I guess I should just give away the rest of the stuff, whatcha think?
it shows you how to layout material to cut it from a big piece of stock without wasting too much. he used it for laminate, but I know you have a lot of curtains and tents and seat covers to sew, so maybe you could make good use of it.

Since work on Jake is on hold due to weather, before I rebuilt his carb, i helped Chrissy start stripping the 'bodywork' off this bay, now named Aphroducky.
Some of those chunks are over 1" thick, I stopped grinding and just went wholesale with a hammer and chisel. Yeh.
it amazes me they had the knowledge to use a slidehammer to pull out the dents but not the intellegence to use a body hammer to push it back in...
The work on Aphroducky will start up again this weekend. First is to fix the fuel line off the tank, put exhaust on and then see if it will fire up after sitting for a year. Wish me luck.
Little more done today, got the outlet for the gas tank put back in place, hooked it up to a battery and made sure the electricals wintered ok (they did) and patched the rear corner. Tomorrow, hopefully I'll get both steps welded up as well as patch below taillight.
