Just like a T1. T T1 exhaust could likely be used, with minor mods.

As the "clearance issue" is side to side, and there appears to be no issue front to back
(the pipes come out front/back ala T1) I still can see no issue.

I'll be sure when I stuff it in and see for myself. I'll take digital pics.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

The only issue with the exhaust "may" be the shift linkage. easy fix.

piledriver,
I would be interested in seeing some pictures when you take them. I know where a good 1.9 wxb engine is sitting. The guy wants a little much for it(450) but on the other hand I have driven it when it was in the vanagon. In fact I was the last person to drive it because I bought the transmission out of it. It ran great and the vanagon doesnt have to many miles on it. I guess I need to look into seeing if its worth starting with this motor or if I should just get a 2.1. I've thought about turbocharging my 914 engine and it looks like its just more trouble than its worth.

Now I may just look for a Suby 6...

EXCELLENT website.

Ok, my 914/wasser project is back on.
I just put the motor on my larin MC lift, and jacked into place.

Whoever originally started the rumor a wasser will not fit a 914...
Was probably selling Subaru conversion kits.

It fits fine, likely little worse to do valve adjustments than a T4.
(My fat paws fit between the suspension consoles and the valve covers)

I'll try to post the pics, they came out good.

Tuna posted my lowly pics on his site,

(Thanks, Tom!)
