Thats my next big purchase! but try telling my wife that i spent too much money having my type 1 built 3000miles ago now i want to spend the right amount on a reliable type 4 2270 I know it will mean more driving of my car but she expects my 'old' motor to be fixed and everybodies happy! we know this is not going to happen so i have told her the next problem i have with my type1 is the last and a kit will be ordered! i cant see it being any later than mid summer!

Repair the Type 1 and sell it. They sell easily if they are "Big'.

Heres a good shot of the Plague with the A-1 header installed. The engine lid stayed shut most of the day as some "Top Secret" material lurked underneath!

Here is Dave, No H20 in a classic stance.. Behind and to his left are Zen Hardy and Bill Kanz, both owners of RAT power! Bill made the trip all the way from Cali to come see us and help me with the data logger in the Plague.

Here is a side shot of the Plague... Believe me she doesn't look this good in person!This car has seen better days and is really starting to show her age. But its not bad for a 10 year old resto and the fact that I painted the car outside, under an Oak tree for 65 bucks! (that was 65 bucks in primer, the paint was a freebie)

Here is a pic of Chico from CPR and myself.... Chico made the trip from Cali to Georgia for the event to support a few of his engines.

BTW, you can see Dave's orange/white Bay also in the picture. Is that a Camper Special in his Bay?

Yeah.. Dave has a Camper Special in the Bay with CIS fuel injection..

He just called me yesterday from Ohio where he had to go on a whim due toa deth in his family. He loaded up the bus and hauled ass there at 4,000 RPM turning 75 MPH the whole way...

The Plague runs a 165x 15 on the front with a 15X6" Fuch

On the rear it's a 215/65/15 also on a 6" Fuch

You guys with the Bugs have all the luck with those wide fenders. On the KG's we are very limited on the wheel/tire size we can run.

I run 195/60/15 on all four corners on Porsche 914 2.0L Fuchs and barely have room on the drivers side rear wheel opening. It's funny that I could have gone bigger on the passengers side rear. I guess that is what is meant by hand made carriage huh?

Dave says he really likes the power of that combo in his Bay.

Shorten the rear of the Ghia and fit some beasts under the fenders...

With the power I'm giving you, it will certainly be a good investment..

Are you sure the a1 sidewinder exhaust set up is that bad?Looking at the A1 system on the plague and that will ground out on every speedbump in my area! And i cant get to my house without going over at least 5 of them!
A loss of a litttle power i could live with to be able to get to my house!!

The sidewinder simply lacks development... It's not "Bad" but it's not efficient enough at this stage of the game to get my seal of approval.

Unfortunately we don't have the time to make it any better..

It's not going to kill the engine, you just won't get all you could out of it in performance, temps and MPG.

What would you recomend other than the a1?I know they are the best performers but a cars no good if i cant get it out!Ideally nothing sticking out under the bumper!Would the tangerine system be better than than the sidewinder?
