Very nice results Walter! Is the t4 in the car back already? I am curious what your next challenge with the 1200 will be. I guess this will not be the end of the story, or is it?

The 1200 is indeed already out, but the T4 not back in atm.
No, I indeed still have some plans for the 1200, as some parts and build decisions were not optimal at all..

Cograts, it was an amazing event. And we germans are very very jealouse what you guys in netherlands are allowed to create "street legal". Walter finaly did it with an ordinary w110 cam

. My personal hero is also hendrik with his fiat 850, amazing car and build and he in person also. Much cudos. And with the 3.44 final drive plus the compound it is very quiet, builds boost smooth and early. I drove with him and he has 25psi around 2700rpm. When he gets the boost rise better in controll its a "minimum" 360nm 300hp engine with a powerband (under 2500-6000+)rpm. Haha. And that in a fiat850

I think that next year a few will attempt to break the n/a record of 100,64 hp.
That will be a lot more work, but its fun trying.
This will be the lay-out for my effort:
But as its not boosted, this won’t be covered here.

VERY interested in this setup too.. Please let us know where/if you will cover that? Another forum?
Interesting you are going 'straight port' with the manifolds too. Have you seen Peter Shattocks + JPM motor? The TB's actually stick out the side of the engine compartment!
Is that a cam position sensor coiled up around the dipstick?

No, its just the hidden sensor for the 24-1 toothed wheel behind the pulley. VWspeedshop makes these, they are awesome: I run with zero errors on these set-ups (most usually run with a few or a dozen or so missed signals).
Sequential doesn't give more hp imo, so not needed at this level.
I first saw a straight manifold at/from a friend of mine (who flow benched the first Apfelbeck head) at around 2004 and the idea stayed with me. JPM indeed also used it. As I got these manifolds for free (and they could be reversed, not designed for it) from a custom program (one-offs), I thought to try that old idea. These 1200 engines with there extremely small bores and consequently very shrouded valves, need all the help they can get..
Plus these manifolds were for a DCNF pattern, so very close spacing, even more straight! Fortunately Jenvey still makes a set, but those were not for free..
But I'am not busy on the engine yet, will let you know when I do

Ah... refreshing to see that you are not running out of motivation Wally. 100.64 should be reachable also with ordinary pump fuel Shell 98 or 99 octane. There is 200+hp NA 1.6 liters our there so 100+ from a 1.2..... just sayin.

The manifolds are amazing, you was faster than me to get them. But i would not say, that this is the bottleneck in 1200cc tuning. The problem is compression ratio (bmap) and nobody is using the potential of the 1300 heads and 77mm bore in rpm. There are just 3 main factors for hp. Displacment (fixed 1200cc), rpm and bmap(compression ratio.... Sure reflection, fuel and ignition are also important. The 77bore and 1300 heads are proven to 125hp at 7300 rpm in 1300cc that would be around 7800rpm with the 64mm crank. And to reach that you need alot of cam and the matching compression.
Downside it's at the end a low torque engine because of the small displacement.
