whats your budget? i know of a few places where you can pick up a poly tank with foam in it for around $120, or less if you get a knock off.

i was hoping to not spend much, but around 120 seems to be a good deal with foam. where can you find them for that?

i was looking through a JAZ catalogue and i saw a few in the 10-12 gallon range. i would start there, also summit racing offered a wide variety of fuel cells for cars

Well I was sort of rained out earlier today, but I did get a little cutting in.
I only really cut more off of the nose, I dont think I need to cut the entire front end off just to fit the new front end. It is a little tweaked and doesnt sit flat so I dont want to cut any more until I get some fasters to hold the center so I can mark of the sides where I want to cut.
But this is the general idea.


I was suprised the fenders actually follow the contours of the original fenderwells, eve though it doesnt look like it in the pic, its just cause the fiberglass is bent.


Also had a package waiting for me when I got home from breakfast, light buckets from mooreparts, definitly worth the $18 bucks each since they came with pigtails (and of course the chrome )

I got some tabs welded onto the front bumper for the headlights. I decided it was the best look that I liked that would not inhibit tire clearance.



A friend of a friend is supposed to be lending me a tubing bender soon. So I might just fab up my own front bumper. We will wait and see how funds are doing.

Ok. So I got my Dzus fastners in the mail, but havnt had time to install them. Anyone have an idea of how to make a front mount for the hood? How have others done it? Pictures would be most appreciated.

No its not a tilt front end. I need to make some brackets to attach it to the body.

i don't have a photo but mine is held on in the front with two ordinary hood pins (mounted to front bumper/skidplate) and two jeep-style fasteners on the rear sides. i could take a pic tomorrow, pm me if you need it...

found this pic.. the pins are chrome and mounted horizontal in the 1" tubing...

All right. Spent some of today working on the car. Got the base for the fuel cell made, took out the passenger seat and took out some more interior.

Also got an electric fuel pump. Called McKenzies, they didnt have any in stock so I went to the local place and picked one up that doesnt need an external pressure regulator.


Also found this under the carpet. Was kind of suprised I never noticed it from the outside.

Thats fairly typical. One of mine looked worse then that in the same spot. Usually under the battery is the worst. I got pretty lucky, the floorpans in my current project are near perfect. The good news is all it takes is a little sheet metal, looks like you got the tools you need. (something I DONT have! )

Rico, don't mount your glass like mine. The pins are on a compound angle and it is a royal pain. I also think the PO cut off too much on the edges (front to rear). I am going to try and get something done by next weekend. Keep up he good work!
Maybe a single mount like El Robi sicne your glass is so small

BUT.....I did do something big today.

Installed a new engine! Yup. For working on my uncles chop top, he is paying me with an engine he had and was trying to sell.

Its nothing big, but its better than my little tired old 1600. Its a 1600 DP with a pict 34 carb. It was built and put in a car that was driven maybe 500 miles. It has a remote cooler, remote filter and super cool tins. It does have bypass and not full flow, but for the price Im not complaining. Also came wih a kennedy stage 2 pressure plate


I had never pulled or installed an engine before and I did both in under 20 minutes
