I don't know about the Bug fuel tank senders, but the Bus senders are either a different resistance or use a calibrated resistance wire. All that I can tell you is using a bug sender with a bus gauge results in wacky readings. Just a heads-up should you run into that.
I gave up and built a probe from a piece of 1/4" dowel stock.

What do you mean? Does mine look like a Bus sender, or do you mean I need a special type of wire run to the gauge? It always worked before with regular wire, though I never trusted it as it bounced around quite a bit. I'm hoping nice new wire will fix that. Thanks for the heads up.

I put a bus gauge set in the buggy's dash and the bug sender did not work with the bus gauge. Don't recall which way it went, but they didn't play well together.

Gotcha ntsqd...pretty sure all my stuff is bug, though. Lotrat, I just don't trust the zipties getting baked and brittle in the sun, so I'm gonna work out something better.

Well, I got a bit more done before the big hockey game started and I had a few beers. I don't drink and wrench.

Homemade "industrial tins"; not pretty but I'm in a hurry to get this car on the road:








Zenith installed with super-duper preheat. I'm taking the oil breather line to the carb, as well as two lines from heated post-cylinder air. It iced up bad on wet, cold days.








I'm excited. This gives me three weeks of tuning time before our Utah Desert Clean Up and the Rally Cross.

Sprayed a little starter fluid down it's throat, turned the key, and it started right up! I'm stoked.

I checked all the circuits, and almost everything works!

Two things I screwed up:

- Forgot to wire the turn signal switch into the L and R circuits, no biggie.
- Reversed the wiring on the backup light and license plate light, doh! Luckily they're right on top of one another, so that's an easy fix as well.

I registered for Rally Cross last night, so I need to get it dialed in soon! Two and a half weeks to go.
