You can go straight to the pump from the tank but a accumulator is better, it will prevent some fuel starvation. Acumulators can be pretty simple to make, basically just a pipe with some fittings.

Are there any high performance EFI pumps that could be hidden INSIDE the tank? I saw the work the other guy did on the previous page, but I don't want any of that to show.

The reasoning would be that if the pump is in the tank, you wouldnt need any sort of reserve tank and an over all cleaner installation.

the sky is the limit on a intank setup, walbro makes several intank pumps, you just need to get creative with a hanger for it. The only problem I see is the feed line woulf have to come out the top of the tank.

So what is a Bosch 044 fuel pump rated for in regards to HP when supporting a turbocharged engine? Does bosch make an adjustable regulator to run with the 044 fuel pump?

pumps are rated LPH, the performance walbro's are 255lph, and if my memory serves me correctly 044's are around 300, but that LPH number changes depending on your fuel pressure. The walbro doesn't like a lot of fuel pressure but a 044 does. You could search around the net and see how much power peeps are making with different fuel pumps. Bosch does make FPR's but they are all OEM specific, ljet and djet FI uses a bosch fpr. The single 044 pump is used on lots of 350+hp cars.

so is a walbro, I know guys getting 500+ on Q16 with just a walbro.

350 HP is acceptable for phase I of this project. But, I'd like to have the room for improvement to somewhere in the 500 HP range down the road. If the Bosch unit can't handle that, are there any other pumps I should look at other than the Aeromotive A1000?

The Full-Race R14 race car makes over 700whp, runs on ethanol, and has 2 bosch 044 in parallel. google it for more pics.

Holy crap! That R14 car has 5 friggin fuel pumps in it! That's definitely NOT the way I want to go. I'm all about the KISS rule here.

Not what I'm looking for. I'm trying to be as stealthy as physically possible. The Aeromotive unit and filter set up like Marty did on that street car is looking more and more attractive to me. I wish there was another pump up to the task that wouldn't look so flashy. I'm trying NOT to draw attention to it mounted on my bulkhead.

Plumb your system for the extra 044, then add it when you need it. They pull a ton of current, so lots of guys set them up with a GPO trigger to only turn the second pump on under boost.

044 pump plus the Aeromotive A1000 regulator should suit you fine and give you room to grow.

I've got a 90 AMP alternator, so I can handle the power requirements of everything in the car. I just wish there was a site that could tell you the specs on the 044 pump as to what HP levels it can safely handle. Maybe if I can find the specs on the pump, I can mess with the various calculators out there and get a ball park # for what it can handle.

Here's a question out of left field....

Is the fuel pressure typically the same when you run gas or ethanol?

I would think the answer would be "yes" since modern hybrid cars can run either fuel. I think their fuel sensors probably just tell the ECU to widen the pulse width of the injector to allow for more fuel.
