Well there is nothing left of the garage and the car is in really bad shape too. Gladly there is a new -67 bug coming for me pretty siin but the bad thing is that I have to buy all the parts, tools and equipment again :(

Sorry about your car!

15-20 years ago the goal was to build a reliable 200hp streetable engine. "Everyone" bought CB Wedgeported heads, IDA`s and big cams and some of them actually made 200hp as soon as they realised that the big ported heads needed compression and welded/ported manifolds to match. Once quality valve springs became avaialble and "solved" the pitted lifter issues everything was golden.

Today it should be rather easy to build a fully reliable and streetable 300 whp engine. Turbo, modern ECU, low compression, quality fuels, better cam technology, lighter valve train, better heads and more knowledge. 300 whp on sensible boost levels and then you can crank it up with multiple maps available with a button on your steering wheel or via a app on your phone.

But more interesting... is your car capable of handling 300 hp? Suspension, brakes, gearbox.... There is no need for a big HP engine if the rest of the car is not ip for it. 120hp is more than fun enough in a "stockish" beetle.
