just found the issue just don't understand it. like i said before im using the timing light as a way to tell if the coils are firing. well all 4 will fire as long as there not connected to the spark plug as soon as i put the wire on a plug it stops firing. does this make any sense to anyone?

i think the problem is the resistor plugs i just put a random small engine non resistor plug and it sparks fine

Resistance shouldn’t make a big difference because the spark is all about voltage and not current. You might have an arc elsewhere in the HT circuit? I messed about with my spark leads & coil thinking it wasn’t sparking but it was actually working fine. I’m using resistor plugs and resistor HT lead wire.

With a 2 channel coil pack like I’m using, the voltage goes to one plug, jumps the gap then travels through the engine block to the opposite plug, jumps the gap then returns to the coil via the lead completing the circuit.

i can't see it being that that its arcing out just for the fact that i've tried 2 different sets of wires and ts doing the same thing on 3 cylinders. i even tried a very stupid thing and the plug in my hand and got zero shock but if i pull the plug off the wire the spark will jump all the way out of the boot. im really confused i could see if it just wasn't making the plug spark but it won't even trigger the timing light.

Could it be a bad plug, with an internal short or weak insulation?

i hooked 1 up to my daughters rail and it was sparking good.i had br9es pugs in it but i just tried a br6hs and all coils fired with that one except it was the wrong reach. now im waiting for my wife to get back from the store with a set of br7es so fingers crossed. what don't understand is ngk shows al of these plugs having a 5000 ohm resistor but if the they fire im not gonna complain

so with the hotter plugs (br7es) have spark on all cylinders. engine runs but only starts if i crack the throttle open a little bit so trying to get it to idle before i go any further. i have the clt sensor from mario any idea what normal temp should be? right now im showing about 215 degrees
