Oh I will, just gotta get it to do what it's told first. Once there, I'll start cranking it up.

Boost cut?

Mine was set at 75 psi. Only managed to trigger it once when my WG was blocked. Bursted a 5 layer silicone hose and that was just about it. Loud bangs are fun.

I pressume you all have a "kill switch" at least? One that allow you to block the WG whenever you need a little extra? I remember one magical Saturday evening at the Scandinavian Cal-Look & Classics (SCC) event where Patte with his fastback lined up against Mr Richie Webb in his 67 yellow turbo cab (not the ProMod). Richie got the lights and was ahead of Patte when Patte decided that enough was enough and pushed the kill button. He blew past Richie and won the race. He did however kill the engine but he really didn`t care because he won the race and smiled from ear to ear. :D That`s the spirit!

I'm only using the boost cut until I can figure out how to control the boost, have a 5 position switch that controls the gate. I can hold it shut if needed. Though I've never seen a circumstance that would justify using it. Maybe some day :D

It was a very cool story with great pics from Kalle anyways :P

BTW I had the wastegate line come loose once too on the old engine and gate kept shut: 2,45 bar boost  . I think it misfired but it was the best afterlaunch I experienced

Well this has been dormant for a while. Had fun with the compounds for a few minutes, but the car has an oil leak that I just couldn't get a handle on. So it got torn apart and parked indefinitely...

I've been tossing around in my head what I want to do with it. The compound stuff as built was never meant to stay that way. So lots of fab work was planned with the intention of packaging them under the bodywork somehow. Other projects have gotten in the way and unfortunately the bug has been sitting back there for months now. The engine is all apart, a new aluminum case is sitting on an engine stand ready to have the old engine guts dropped inside. Unfortunately upon teardown I found a cam lobe that was just starting to shrink, as well as a pitted lifter under that lobe. So she is getting a new cam. I still have other projects in the way right now, but they aren't stopping me from spending a few bucks here and there. Its heads are in my car now, dropping them off for a valve job today. I discovered that it had pretty low compression on a hole or two before I tore it down. So it's due for a little maintenance. As always, gonna rebuild to me just a "little" meaner. New parts have started showing up. So it's getting close to time to start the fab work for version 15 or whatever this is now.

I’m sad to see the compound set up go but, I’m also interested to see what new setup you have and the results.

Chip, get some Udo tool steel lifters from John. I haven't had my valve lash change for 4 years! They are awesome so far against a Webcam.

The tool steels from Torsten Pieper is what I use forever now or so it seems and those are a lot less expensive for me in europe, but probably for you guys then as well? Think he has his own web-site by now Pieper engineering or s/th, google it of you want contact details. Just FYI ;-)

Very happy you started looking at it again Chip! :D
