I would love to see the results with the two turbo setup.
Would linking 1 - 3 to one turbo and 2 - 4 to the other turbo not have been better?? Like you would do on a dual scroll setup.

maybe et would boost few hundred RPM quicker but simplicity costs something too :D
I think it works well as it is.
I gave my drift car project tomy brother to get more time for my beetle. I´ll try to finish the roof until primer and then start putting together the engine part in few months.
Finally we have a dyno here in town and I can pull some stripeps on rollers on winter and don´t have to wait for summer :D
For a start I´ll put that together with stock clutch (I got new) and 100% stock internals to pull first time with this car. few hundred from wheels would be enough for a start....until I can afford some performance parts.

Great read Joosep... Have been following your thread for some time now.... I'm not a huge fan of the TIV engine, but there is no denying their qualities... A mate here in Western Australia has a mostly stock 2ltr TIV in his bug that has produced well over 450hp with a draw-through DCOE... Best times with a stock transaxle, no burnout and very lazy starts is in the low 12's.... You are going to have a blast when you get that project sorted.

I'm a big fan of the 1600 turbo engine but if you know that 2.0 stock engine with turbo and with dcoe out under 13s would I immediately took out my van and would put in a 1303s

It's is mostly stock as I said.... I think he has done the obvious stuff, like a quality balance and blueprint, mild port and polish, and a lighter flywheel... He is using a South African made upright fan conversion on that engine too I think... Pretty sure he has upgraded the valve springs too, and the rocker gear, but the bore and stroke is stone stock as is the cam..... Build it right and add boost!

Damn now very encouraged to lower the engine kombero and start working, just do not know if it will fit flywheel and clutch set of type 4 on set gear of 1303

Thanks guys for keeping my topic alive. Unfortunately the car has been under plastic since december and last thing I did was removing all the paint from roof. I hope to start with working with it in february to get it ready for summer.

meanwhile I was building a driftcar for my brother because I broke his car: http://www.delfi.ee/news/paevauudised/1 ... t.delfi.ee

Pro Driftcar for my friend:

And cause its always winter here I bought my first 1302 for winter rallycar.

.....and bought my first wasserbxer for it:

I put together one of my friends bug engine and worked a little bit with another. 1914 is waiting for me but I still hope to get all thouse works away from here in february to work with my turbo bug.

I took my only datalog I found:
Image

And inserted some number to calculator andg got something like:
Image

Its weakest dyno graph I´ve ever seen. It would be shame to go to dyno with car like this but

But when I think that there are some misfires (cause big boost....) as U can see, it was stock 1600 with nothing new in there maybe its not as bad as it looks. It should be ~140Hp and 150Nm from engine
Ill try to find my old laptop because there were a lot f datalogs.....including pulls from start with 4th gear.
