I'd run tube that is easier and fits, vs something the same diameter as your throttle body flange. Just buy stepped silicone couplers and call it good.

X2.....smaller tubing makes for tighter bends.......the turbo will fill whatever is there.

Been doing boring non turbo stuff today on the car!
I have a complete new wiring loom to fit in the car and brakes and every bush and bearing on the car....
also working on a polo rack and pinion steering setup and some rust holes....
And a turbo pic in better lighting

It all has to be done unfortunately. Even the not fun stuff

still doing the boring stuff sadly! welding up some rust spots and grafting in a radio cutout that isn't butchered.
fitting this polo rack and pinion has really been kicking my ass sadly. i have the tie rods sorted by extending the mounting bracket as one was really far extended and made me feel uncomfortable.
but joining the steering input from the rack to the beetle column has been a real pain, i was told a beetle steering link (universal joint) would fit and although it fits the beetle steering column splines its a tad too big for the polo rack. i can make ti work with a shim but on some something like this... i just need to find another option so looking at a 6n polo link now.....
sad thing is i wasted so much time on that beetle link and it was £50 which is now going in the bin as i had to chop it and shorten it.
oh well, i'll get over it!
so back to fun stuff.
cooling the water for my charge cooler.
i don't know if its true but it makes sense, air con radiators work well at cooling water at lower temps..... and are efficient at this range.
i also have a nice sized one for free so will probably use that for my cooling under the car with a fan on it too maybe.
also my MS1 V3 that i was making is pretty much done and talks to my laptop okay, just need to drill the end plates
after a bit more welding i'll start mounting the charge cooler and piping and the fuel and oil lines.
fuel will be PTFE braided lines in AN6 and oil will be push fit AN10

Got some bits in the post, the turbo flange should space off my turbo enough for the turbo to clear the header as at the min it’s just about touching, but no biggie. But also should give me clearance around my oil fitting for full flow....
And the holset flange to make my dump pipe from and an O2 bung, I brought the blank for it too as I found that helpful to screw in while welding to help with heat and splatter if any.
For the turbo dump pipe I really want them exiting the stock beetle cut outs but I’m a little unsure if that will work out. Will mock up tomorrow hopefully with the rear valance on.

Nice! Where'd you source those flanges and gaskets? I am in need of some for my Hx35 build!!

All eBay, the t3 flange was about £12 with gasket and the 6 bolt was £20 but quite hard to find.... can send you links if you want?
Also I need a gasket for that too or look at making one

Spent about 6hrs today slowly cutting out rust and welding in new metal, very boring but done now!
The spacer for the will work out okay.
Rear valance clearing though may need some work!

So what do I need for a wastegate? And should I relocate my wastegate from the number 1 runner to the merged part? Guessing yes but people make some power on these cb header...?
Also I’m thinking of running my meth/water nozzle just after the charge cooler pre throttle body. Any thoughts?
