Really started to clean up the body today. I can't for the life of me understand why there's so much Bondo on this car. The roof is straight as can be except for some drilled holes, but there's about a quarter inch of Bondo over about 2/3's of it. I'm using a flapper wheel on my grinder to take it all off. What a pain. Plus, I look like a Smurf now.

Did it snow in my garage?

Some people start off with a little bondo and to get it smooth they keep adding more and more mud. Looks like fun as long as somebody else is doing it.

I found that a wire wheel on an angle grinder works well for removing bondo. And it's not as hard on the metal. But it still makes on mell of a hess!

I tried the wire wheel, but it seemed harsher on the metal than the flapper. You'll never know after I rattle can it anyway.

yeh a whire knot is best as it doesnt remove any metal and gets in all the tight bits, car is looking good.

You guys were right as usual. I bought a wire cup attachment and it works great! I worked for about an hour before my hands went numb. About 1/3 of the car is down to metal (the outside anyway). Found a few small dents and some very minor rust pitting, but again...I really don't care.

Got half the exterior down to metal, including the cracks and crevices I missed earlier. My hands are numb again and now my back is tired, but I think the car's lost about 10 pounds in Bondo. No joke.
