That mount looks GREAT! Nice work. I like the support for the Turbo as well.

Does anyone have advice on the exhaust pipe size from the turbo?
2" or 3"?

Bigger the better. Restriction after the turbo slows spool.kubelguy13 wrote:Does anyone have advice on the exhaust pipe size from the turbo?

I'm using 2.5 because that is what fit.

That's a perfectly valid reason.MarioVelotta wrote:I'm using 2.5 because that is what fit.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Good question! If it doesn't close I'll have to make a new latch for it, but there is a lot of room in there from where the engine
tin comes out to the valence and then the valence itself on a bay bus sits higher than the engine tin unlike your splitty where that curve in the valence fits against the the engine tin.
Thanks for the 2nd look. I appreciate any observations as I may miss something.
My new brace mounting bolts line up with the second hole in on the right of the valence and are below 4 1/2" if that gives you an idea of where the valence will sit. Ill have to take pictures of it next week.

Yeah I'd like to look at your brace. Is it like a kafer bar rear hanger style?kubelguy13 wrote:panel wrote: My new brace mounting bolts line up with the second hole in on the right of the valence and are below 4 1/2" if that gives you an idea of where the valence will sit. Re: 2276 TURBO MEGASQUIRT BUILD
The brace is bolted to the engine . You can see it at the bottom of page 5. It was made to replace the stock early bay bus brace so we could run the header around it easier. You can see the stock brace back on page 4 near bottom. Early bay busses have these because there is no support for the bell housing of the 002 transmission.panel wrote:Yeah I'd like to look at your brace.
