Can’t say never. Sometimes you change injectors so You spill some fuel probably and have to smell it.

Just use E85! It smells good!

I hope its not a load of hassle like carbs are
If you are nervous about it, find someone that can help you along the way. Richie Webb is probably a great efi resource in your part of the world. Grab an ecu that he is familiar with and get some help from him for the tune. Anyone with a laptop can dial in the fuel table decently enough, however, horsepower is found in the ignition table, and that's pretty tough to dial in without a dyno, and some tuning know how.

Me trying to save a few pennies is wondering if I can use the dells as throttle bodies. No fuel piped into it ,jets removed, mixture screws, air bleeds screwed shut . blades fitted.
Thinking of doing this ,with injector bosses fitted to the manifolds, my motor is a narrow one with a fair bit of room between the manifolds and the inner wings.

I don't see why you couldn't. You will have to fit tps sensors to them.

Just one

Another idea.
Remove the S.U Carb. fit a single throttle body with TPS in its place and weld some bungs into the manifolds. It would save on fabrication time and save some money.
Does the throttle body position/length of manifold make a difference. I see plenty of single throttle bodies with long manifolds before the valve.

I'm sure that's definitely an alternative. I've always felt my single with a long intake was an inferior design to duals with a short intake. I would think it would have to affect throttle response with the long intake.

Yeah, I did read the throttle response is a bit slower.

Also no linkage or synch. So there are 2 sides to every coin.

I've discovered the slow speed chugging/hunting is looking like the air speed , basically the pipe work from the turbo to the carb is too long/too big, this is why when I change down a gear to get the air speed back up , the engine runs ok. just saying, its still not injection

Gonna try downsizing on the tube diameter?

Yeah ,I'll step it down some, Think I can loose some pipe inches from the turbo to the carb too, that will increase speed a bit, It worked before, but I'm forever tinkering with it trying to do something better.
Think the saying is ..if it ain't broke don't fix it. lol

Yeah I don't know about carbs. Mine is really far between the turbo and injectors and seems to work ok. I'm sure it would be better if it were shorter though.

Well, I've removed a meter of boost pipe, now turbo to carb is about a foot. Shortest distance I've had yet. Weekend now so Sod it , BBQ time
