heres the first fitment issue with the stiffy truss bar kit with the subaru engine mount.

looks like i need some different tabs so the clevis dosnt contact the engine bracket.

other than that so far so good.Image

What kind of fuel pump is that? Was there any welding required? I have a barrel type pump and it's crazy loud. I'm going to reposition mine in an effort to quiet it down but I know that the only real way to make it silent is to put it into the tank. Great work!

its a setup from tanksinc.com

i believe the one i got is the 255 lph pump.

i have no clue if its loud or not. i know your looking to quiet things down on your setup.

pretty sure it requires welding.

i havnt finished mine yet.

between working a crap ton and spending time with the fam the beetle has been on the side lines.

hopefully gonna knock out a few things on it tomorrow if time allows between the honey do list and yard work.

Thank you for the info. My car has taken a decade to get running as it has always taken a back seat to my wife and raising three daughters. Even if I only had time to get out there for a few minutes and do something on the car, it was still progressing.

so i fitting uo the subarugears ring and pinion. i am having a few fitment issues.

so with the first photo i have the locking collar installed with the needle bearing.

i go to install the suba spool after inserting the pinsion shaft. the splines protrude.

so if i go ahead and install the washer and nut i wont be able to tighten up the nut against the subaspool it will hit the splines and the spool can move back and forth.ImageImageImage

am i missing something here?

i have watched the subarugears video.

it dosnt show thr collar being installed onto the pinion shaft. he goes directly to installing the shaft then putting on the suba spool, washer then nut.

is yours the older style without the bushing for the suba spool end of the shaft?
