Lord Bajamungus build

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Finished paint last night...will sticker tomorrow if I'm not picking up the new rear suspension setup in Ogden.

Well, I didn't sticker or go up to Ogden, but seeing as the snow's melting all over the dirt roads I thought I'd try out some mudders that've been sitting in the back of my garage. Forgot to take the camera out with me, but the tires work.

You can see the awesome body work I did filling in the holes from the chrome trim strip thing. Don't look too closely.

In hindsight, I should've stickered it up before going out to play. Now I have to wash it.

Just fixin' stuff that I broke trying to keep up with 1966bajabug:

- Fixed the heated intake
- Making brackets for the headlights that attach to the metal body (since one practically fell off)

It also felt like there was no top end and was running super rich (13 mpg), so:

- rejetted the Zenith from 125's to 120's
- adjusting the butterflies to open 99% with the pedal floored

I'll let you know how I like the Zenith when I get it running right! So far, so good, though. It's very tolerant of dirt as I found out when my air cleaner came off and doesn't do anything weird on sharp corners or the rough stuff like my 34-3 occasionally did.

On the subject, I found a mini ball-joint at the parts store to fix the throttle cable bind:

I now get about 99% butterfly action with the pedal floored.

Mocked up some headlight mounts to keep them from falling off:

I'm ready for some weekend test runs.

Picking this up next week for FREEEEEE. Glass and repair panels included....solid heater channels, YAY! It'll get installed this winter...though I hate to lose all my steekers. :(

It's a drag project one of the Northern VeeDub Club of Utah guys had in his backyard in Sugarhouse and ran out of time for. He just wants it gone. :D It's a '67, so I'll have to redo the rear bodymounts, but that's cool. Jarad and Ginger are being nice enough to let me keep it in their backyard until after the Wendover race.

I need to get the pan done on S.O.B. so I can semi put it back together before then...there's no more room in my garage!
