I had an idea to replace the dog house by using a radiator fan or something and laying it flat across the top of the engine. I think that this would give me more room for the turbo that I want to put on it. I was wondering if anyone had tried it or had any thoughts on it.

Yes it has been tried. Its a horrible idea simply due to the fact that the fan can't keep up with the engine. Do some searches under "Electric fan" or cooling system and see what you come up with. It has been a fairly common question that many of us have answered..

He seems to do a good job usually, no alternator though.

At that rate, you'd be better off getting a 911 setup to give you more room for the turbo behind the fan. It's not optimal, but the engine will survive a lot longer than with the radiator above it.

And yes, it will be running the T4 thermostat TOO! The thermo
operates the MOSFET, that controls the fan speed.


Here is a better view of the alt, an arrangement that I don't like,
but don't have the time to change. I'll see if it puts out enough EMI
to cause my electronic dizzy trouble:


Just ignore the T1 fan and alt. It was there to mark up my tins for cutting.
