guys its been awhile...but has anyone ever thought of building a locost?

frankly many of the aspects that led me to the bug is also in the locost. But the locost is faster and takes modification better.

I've been toying with the build. the problem is that it will be a bit of a pain to get the thing registered and on the road. it may just be a track car. also the sleeper factor is no longer there.

any thoughts?

I"ve wanted a Seven since high school (many decades ago) A big boy's shifter cart. I autocrossed a dune buggie in the late sixties and did O.K., but never NEVER beat the Sevens. Nor did the Corvettes and Cobras either, which was cool. I hated/loved those cars. I thought about building a Locost myself, but after looking into it ended up buying a South African Seven replica, It was an incomplete project, was cheaper than building it myself, was built on a jig, and had better welds than I'll ever manage. Lots of folks who started those Locost projects never quite finish them, so you can get piles of parts for half the cost. There's a Yahoo Locost group where you can find all links you'll need, plus lines on incomplete projects for sale.
