Solex 40 carbs 009 dizzy 2.0 914

I just bought a 1972 porsche 914 with a 2.0
It was fuel injected but someone has put on a
single 32/36 weber. The single runs fine, But
I was hoping to put on these dual 40 solex carbs and
Take out the vaccume advance distributor and putting in an 009.
Anyone out there have any experience with these carbs and dizzy?

The solexes will work fine but the 009 is a POS and don't use it. The stock vac/mechanical advance unit has better advance curves than the POS 009.

What is the total advance of the stock vacuum unit? I'm wondering if the stock unit advances at all with the vacuum not hooked up or if it only advances off of vacuum?

stock dizzy advances some 32 degrees total mechanical advance plus has the vacuum advance which is only for 1200to 2500rpms. There is also the vacuum retard part which is for emissions and you can ignore it.

A 009 has 17 degrees of total advance so people time the 009 with 10 degrees inital advance so at 3500 rpms its the same as the stock dizzy.

Hooking up the vac advance gives a smoother drive since the adv comes in when you step on the throttle in the 1200to2500 rpm range.
