Was Red wire on sale?
MNAirHead you are not the first one to make the comment about all one color wiring .The way our customers receive their cars back, they get a line diagram schematic and what we refer to as a written schematic .eg, wire # 27 goes from center pin of turn signal switch to terminal strip "B" carries left turn signal power out to front and rear turn signals . We have actually found that most of our customers prefer this system and find it easier to use .We use a system of heat shrunk slid on wire markers , that most people agree actually makes the wires easier to identify .But yes we also do the old traditional multicolour wire systems as well. Actually just recently ran across a supplier that will now imprint wire with function labeling for me, all one colour also helps to reduce my shop floor inventory , now i end up just having to buy wire by gauge and not by color and gauge .We use only T90 nylon wire which is oil and gasoline proof and has a 90 degree C temp rating for all our projects

The wire marking system is from Weidmuller in sweden its called partex . You build the numbers on a installation tool which slides over the end of the wire. tool looks like a big hollow teflon covered neeedle .Once everything is landed and the harness fully shaped and secured we just pass a low heat type gun over the terminated ends which locks the numbers in place.I use a brady id pro thermal printer to make the temp tags that we use when forming the harnesses
I assume thats what you were asking Tim
tim i thought i might add we did try a system where by a thermal printer would imprint the number on heat shrink tubing for us ,but the problem was that after a short time the tubing would discolor making them hard to read esspecially when used underhood or in a car with an exposed engine

looking Good!
I *may * get a labeler someday (Partex Is nice), but I do very few home jobs for other people, especially after a work day wiring jets,
. I use several types of Brady stuff at work for quickies, but most our normal spec stuff is lazer and just numbers, loooooooooots of numbers. Must be why I like color
.
I think I was around 80-90% in this shot of my split. Only thing left now 2 years later, is make the wipers work. I enjoy the stuff like these examples, good work

A very tidy looking harness Tom, good job! The partex system that we use is not a printer system its numbers on a roll .You break off the numbers you need and basically build the number you desire, slide them on the installation tool, then the tool slides over the end of the wire.and you slide the digits down on your wire . I like this system because the numbers a very robust and stand up very well in the applications we are using them for
