Bob,

Search amazon.com for "paint and body", "auto painting", "custom auto painting", etc. Hundreds of books on all aspects of the subject. Your local big box book store will also have some stuff. I suggest fairly recent releases as the technology has changed a little over time. Basic techniques are pretty standard.

Hope this helps.

House of Kolors also had a very cool video series... our local dealer rented the videos for $5/day.

I have a friend that used to be in the regional occupation program put on by local school districts. Anyone can attend and the classes are Mon - Friday's, half a day. He was buying cars doing the body work at ROP and reselling them.

I also attended this class when I was in high school and really enjoyed it.

If you have any specific questions just ask. I've been a bodyman for 20+ years and am working on the sticky for paint and body basics. I'm partially through the general info and then i'll do a thread on a repair all the way through paint.
