Hi-perf Rod's suitable for 24mm WBX wrist pin
I Will replace my stock WBX rods with some Hi perf ones.
Any tips og rod's that has more "meat" in the small end to accept the larger 24mm WBX bushing?
It's a turbo engine.stock length

I will order a set H-beam's and a set 24mm bushings soon. I will turn down the OD of the bushings if needed and bore ID of the smallend. I'm told they are big enough at the smallend

i need to order some new rods and i thought i could get them direct with the correct pin size ??
I looked at their page and fund some I-rods (stock WBX rods are 5,394 right!?) that I would love to have with 24mm pin

It all depends on how much material there is around the bushing in the rod. The type 1 rod bushings in a stock rod have a outer diameter of 26 mm as far as I can remember and the's not enough to make a good bushing when the inner diameter needs to be 24 mm. My guess is the 22 mm bushings needs to be removed, the bore for the bushing needs to be enlarged, new bushings have to be made and fitted. After that the rods should be machined in a fixture with a single cutting edge tool to ensure PRECISE end to end length on all rods after that the inner bore of the bushings needs to be honed to the right fit. I have tried serveral time to skip the singe egde cutting process to seed things up, but the end to end length of the rods differs as much as 0,007-0,012", too much in my opinion !! My friend "Bang" wrote a thread earier seeking info on a big oxyboxer and I'm helping him out and we will recieve CB Performance rods within a few days and then I'll be able to determine if there is enough material in the small end of the rod to machine it for a larger 24 mm bushing. Bang's engine will not need this since we are ordering 101,6 mm JE pistons with 22 mm pins.WBX Man wrote:They look damm nice.. but is it posible to convert it to 24mm !?
I'll return with more info when I get the rods and done a few measurement

i talked with stateside tuning here in the uk and they say they did a set earlier in the year taking a scat 5.4 I beam and machining and rebushing... price seemed ok too... delivery time was a bit long tho... christmas gets in the way... doh!
will think about it over the weekend unless anyone has a better suggestion...

The I beams are bigger around the smallend and better for turbo. Show us some pics if/when you get themakciddento wrote:i talked with stateside tuning here in the uk and they say they did a set earlier in the year taking a scat 5.4 I beam and machining and rebushing... price seemed ok too... delivery time was a bit long tho... christmas gets in the way... doh!

got measurement of the CB unitech rods and he measuerd them to ca 30,6mm outside the small end.
