FAQ - Polarizing a Generator

Received the following note..

As I read through forums I always see "polarize generator" noted. What does this mean

Is there a quick and easy answer

Generators require a magnetic field to operate. If the genny is not polarized the field may or may not generate in the correct polarization. By polarizing the generator, you assure that the field is in the correct polarization.
