Third race done!

Well, the third race of the season is in the books.

RAIN!!!

While I usually enjoy racing in the rain, since it equalizes the horsepower gaps and brings forth the better drivers, this time I was the one wishing for dry grip. I have enough ego to think I'm a pretty fair wet track driver, but wide slicks, mucho power and me still learning this car made for a frustrating day. One issue that reared it's head on my second run was a slipping clutch. Everything is new, so I'm not sure what going on there, but we'll sort that out before this upcoming weekend's event.

so the results?
Well, Brad McClure once again placed first with a time of 47.606
A 74 Toyota Corolla got second this time with a 47.882
Once again I was 3rd, trailing quite a bit with a 52.598
and 4th place was the co-driver of the Corolla with a 56.181

I'd sure like to gain some ground on the Porsche, at least to challenge him for a win or two, but so far I'm second in series points with a good margin.

Starting next week the Fresno SCCA series starts, and the following week the American Auto-X series starts. Good thing the engine seems to be going well, and the last round of jetting really seemed to bring the drivability around...

not that I could floor it in the RAIN!!!!

Well Done!

The slipping clutch thing, its a long shot but you might dheck your CV Joints.

My car got to the point where I could redline it in gear with no change in speed, so I pulled the motor to replace the clutch. clutch was fine. pulled the rear brake drums hoping one was stripped out, both fine. checked my CV shafts, one fine one sloppy... now if my new axel would finally arrive and i had a running motor, I could test this theory.

good luck,
